Important Application Information the Flinders International Postgraduate Research Scholarship
It is important for all applicants to carefully read the application guidelines before submitting their application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
To ensure that your application is complete and competitive, you should:
- Make contact with an academic staff member in your relevant academic area and obtain their agreement to supervise you if your application is successful. Evidence of the supervisor’s agreement should be included in your application.
- Include up to five of your publications, each accompanied by a completed coversheet. Publications without coversheets will not be considered. If you have more than five publications, consult with your Flinders University supervisor to select the best five. Publications should not be more than five years old.
- Provide a certified copy of all university level academic transcripts, translated into English.
- Include a research proposal of approximately 500 words outlining the problem, hypothesis or question, and the methodology or approach.
- Provide two copies of the Academic Referee’s Confidential Report forms, with Section A completed, and forward them to two appropriate referees of your choice. Academic Referee reports must be returned to rhdscholarships@flinders.edu.au by the closing date.
- Include an updated CV outlining your work experience, all research experience, and a full list of cited publications.
All documents should be uploaded via the application portal in English and saved as a PDF. Please name all documents with your family name and document name.
To apply for an AGRTPS and FIPRS, you must first submit an application for admission to a Higher Degree by research (PhD or Master of Arts by research) followed by an application for the International RHD Scholarship Group. If you already have a valid offer for admission to a Higher Degree by Research, you do not need to apply for admission again.

Important facts to consider when applying for the Flinders International Postgraduate Research Scholarship
To apply for admission to Flinders University as an international student, you should first read the information on the website about international admission and complete a registration on the Studylink platform. After completing the registration, you will receive a Flinders student ID within one hour, which you should take note of.
To apply for the International RHD Scholarship Group, you will need to activate your account using your Flinders student ID and date of birth on the activation page provided by the university. After activation, you will receive a Flinders Authentication Name (FAN) which will allow you to submit your application for the scholarship.
To apply for the scholarship, you should log in to your OKTA dashboard via the quick links on the Flinders website, select the Student System, then the My Scholarship tab, and finally the “Create a new scholarship application” button. You should select “2023” from the search and choose the International RHD Scholarship Group. If you have previously studied at Flinders University but graduated more than 12 months ago, you will need to reactivate your FAN via the FAN reactivation page before submitting your scholarship application.
The application deadline for the International RHD Scholarship Group is Friday 4 August 2023 at 5pm Australia, Adelaide local time. After submitting your application, including all mandatory questions and documentation, it will be assessed. Assessment will begin after the application deadline has passed.
